We now have nine kids in Ghana undergoing spine surgery by Dr. Boachie’s FOCOS team. We are not fully funded, and greatly appreciate contributions – from small gifts to full sponsorships of $18,000 per child. Detailed information is available on each patient.
With the opening of the new FOCOS Hospital in Ghana, we now offer traction to severely deformed patients for months before surgery. These brave patients have several holes drilled into their skulls to attach a halo apparatus that helps to slowly stretch them before surgery. Ambulatory traction allows them to sit and walk during treatment. This enables us to now help severely deformed patients we could not reach before.
