“A Dinner of Unconditional Love” is an upcoming event honoring the work of Dr. Rick Hodes. Above, Dr. Hodes poses with Colorado governor Bill Ritter, who is the honorary chair of the dinner. As covered in the Denver Daily News:

“Dr. Stephen Berman, left, Dr. Rick Hodes, center, and Gov. Bill Ritter were at Strings Restaurant, 1700 Humboldt St., yesterday for the kickoff event for “A Dinner of Unconditional Love,” which will take place Jan. 13, 2011. The dinner will honor Hodes, known by some as “the Jewish Mother Teresa.” He is a rare person who has devoted his personal and professional life to serving Ethiopia’s poor and sick. As part of Hodes’ 20-year service with the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee (JDC), Hodes sees patients of all religions and ethnicities at Mother Teresa’s Missionaries of Charity. Hodes treats people suffering with heart disease, scoliosis and tuberculosis of the spine, and cancer. The dinner on Jan. 13, 2011, aims to raise $500,000 to enable Hodes to continue his holy work in Ethiopia. All of the funds (after the cost of the event) will be allocated to JDC’s medical work in Ethiopia, to enable the continuation of these life-saving medical treatments and to sustain Hodes’ work in Ethiopia. The dinner takes place from 6-9 p.m. at the Denver Downtown Sheraton’s grand ballroom, 1550 Court Place. You can take part in this dinner for a great cause, but you must register in advance.
