Do you treat non-spine conditions?
Yes, we do take on heart conditions – both congenital and rheumatic in origin. These include atrial and ventricular septal defects, tetralogy of Fallot, and valvular conditions such as mitral stenosis. We send our heart patients to AIMS Amrita Hospital in Cochin, India for procedures (like balloon procedures to open valves) and surgery.
We like to take on challenges, and at this moment, I am working to get surgery for a patient with a huge facial tumor known as an AVM (arterio-venous malformation), as well as a severely deformed boy with Ellis van-Crevel, who has a total of 13 fingers and knees that just out at 45 degree angles.
