GREAT NEWS: 20 SPINE PATIENTS FLEW FROM ADDIS ABABA TO FOCOS-GHANA FOR LIFE-CHANGING SPINE SURGERY

JDC-Ethiopia’s Spine program was started 15-years ago in partnership with FOCOS Hospital in Accra, Ghana. Since then, we’ve performed over 1000 surgeries on spine patients who could die without help.  

On September 30, 2021 we sent our third group this year. Along with an Ethiopian nurse for training in spine care. 

Besides the normal issues of multiple tests on multiple patients, we’ve had to deal with COVID and all the isolation and testing issues. 

The majority in this group are teens going for their final fusion surgery. 

We’ve followed these beautiful kids for the last 4 to 10 years. Now they’ve made it to the end of their medical journeys. We wish them successful surgery and speedy recovery.
