Worabe is a a small town 167KM away from the capital in south-central Ethiopia in Silte Zone. We have had lots of patients from this zone in the past so we decided to make a trip and do a screening campaign.
On August 27, 2021, Dr. Rick and his team traveled to Worabe to evaluate patients and train Ethiopian doctors. The local authorities and Worabe Hospital announced the campaign driving around the city with microphones. Over 100 patients showed up seeking help. Dr. Rick and his team evaluated everyone who came and selected surgical candidates.
We continue to create awareness about spine deformities and train Ethiopian surgeons to operate on easier cases locally.
